❓ What is GTA RP and how does it work?

GTA RP stands for Grand Theft Auto Roleplay. In it, you play in the city of Los Santos as an original character that you create. You can work jobs, start a business, become a criminal, and more!In GTA RP, you act as your character rather than yourself, and experience the world through their lens. It's perfect for those interested in improv, voice acting, and dynamic storytelling!OshiRP offers a variety of activities for you to do in the game, providing loads of storytelling opportunities. Outside of the game, you can network with fellow VTubers and make new friends!

📑 How do I join OshiRP?

To join OshiRP, you’ll need to submit an application on Google Forms. Once it’s reviewed and accepted (usually within 2-3 days), you’ll receive an invite to the official OshiRP Discord server and be given access to the GTA server!We're looking for passionate and friendly streamers, whether experienced or new to RP, with a bright personality and talent for storytelling! ✨ How do I create a character for roleplay?

When creating your character, you'll want to consider a variety of things, including their name, how they might look, their backstory, personality, goals, and their key strengths and weaknesses.You'll want to create an original character that fits into the city and provides lots of opportunities for interesting interactions and storytelling. Let your imagination run wild!

💸 How do I earn money?

There are a variety of ways to earn money around Los Santos!You can start by working at public jobs like delivery driving, woodcutting, and garbage collection. There are lots of jobs available, including:
- GoPostal
- Postman
- Electrician
- Garbage Collection
- Window Cleaning
- Lumberjack
- Construction
Outside of public jobs, you can also apply for a hunting or fishing license and make money by hunting wildlife or catching and selling fish. If you yearn for the mines, you can purchase a mining license and mine ores at the quarry to sell. You can also purchase and open a fast food business, or become an employee.As you get more involved, you can apply for whitelisted jobs or get creative with criminal RP.

🌠 How do Whitelist Jobs work?

Whitelist Jobs are special jobs that require an application and approval. These jobs have dedicated leaders, internal rules and guidelines, and are socially involved. If you are active, reliable, and passionate about RP, you'll love these!The server offers multiple whitelisted jobs, including:

💥 What illegal activities are available?

OshiRP offers tons of activities for those interested in Criminal Roleplay! You can join or create a gang, grow and sell drugs, steal and rob from players and stores, and stage epic heists! Most criminal scenarios are roleplayed rather than built-in using game mechanics, so get creative!Criminal RP is allowed as long as it follows the rules of the server. You cannot randomly rob or murder players without a strong reason and roleplaying leading up to the incident.

⚖ How does the justice system work?

OshiRP has a fully functioning justice system. Laws are detailed in the Municipal Code, while punishments are found in the Penal Code. Presidents are also given the power to enact new laws.If you are arrested by a police officer, you will go through a realistic legal process. You can hire a lawyer, go to court, be charged and sentenced to prison, and even sue other players in civil cases! The Department of Justice handles all trials, appeals, and investigations.

🏡 How do I purchase a property?

The process of buying and renting a property in OshiRP is made fun and simple! Simply visit the Dynasty8 office and speak to the NPC behind the counter to browse available houses. If you had a specific location in mind that doesn't have a listing available, you can contact a Dynasty8 Realtor on Discord and ask to purchase a property there.Properties allow you to store items in containers, send and receive mail, and more! You can decorate your property with furniture, invite players into your home, etc.Homes can also be broken into by criminals or raided by the police, so watch out!

🚗 How do I purchase a vehicle?

The first step to purchasing a vehicle in OshiRP is obtaining a vehicle license. You'll want to visit the DMV and pass both the theory and practical test. Then, head to the City Hall to purchase your license.After obtaining your license, simply visit one of the city's vehicle dealerships. There's one for cars, trucks and vans, boats, and even aircraft! There, you can test drive and purchase your ride!If you'd like to customise your car with decals, fresh paint, or even upgrade the engine and tweak your suspension, you can visit a mechanic shop.

💡 What are some roleplay tips and tricks?

Here's some tips and tricks to help you when roleplaying:Always Stay In-Character - Don't speak out-of-character in the game, always stay fully immersed!Be Creative - Let your imagination run wild!Develop Story Arcs - Have clear goals for your character, and create meaningful developments with story arcs.Be Realistic - Having realistic expectations for your character creates a more immersive and high-quality RP experience for everyone.Stay Social - GTA RP is ultimately a social experience; befriend other creators and let your character interact with as many other characters as you can!

📚 What are some in-character roleplay terms?

Here is a list of RP terminology to help you stay in-character:

  • Fly in/Fly Out - Joining/leaving the server.

  • Refly - Reconnecting to the server. Leaving and joining again. Usually to fix bugs.

  • In-head - In real life. Can also mean AFK. For example, “I’m going to the toilet in-head.”

  • Headache/Headpop - Lagging, or crashing.

  • Brain - Your PC. For example, "My brain is overheating and lagging."

  • In my eyes - In your POV.

  • Muscle - A certain keybind. For example, “Flex your E muscle.”

  • Emails - Discord messages. For example, “I sent you the photo in emails,” "What's your email?"

  • Voicebox - Your microphone, microphone settings, volume, etc.

  • Locals - In-game NPCs. Store vendors etc. Characters who aren’t controlled by real players.

  • Tsunami - Server Restart. For example, "The Tsunami is coming in 30 minutes!"

  • Third Eye - Your Alt-key menu. For example, "Open your Third Eye and talk to the clerk."

  • Voices in Head - Twitch Chat. (Don't abuse this)

  • Government/Govs/Gods - Server Admins.

OshiRP Server Rules

Below are the official rules of the OshiRP server.All members must follow the behaviour rules at all times, and in-game rules whenever in-city.Members who break the rules may receive punishments including timeouts, warnings, and bans depending on severity and repeat incidents.Last updated: 27 FEB 2026


Key Definitions

  • OOC - Out-of-Character.

  • IC - In-Character.

  • Metagaming - Using third-party information e.g. Twitch streams, Discord chats, etc. to aid yourself in-city, where your character wouldn't know this information.

  • Combat Logging - Leaving the server to avoid combat, player interactions, hostage situations, getting arrested, etc.

  • VDM - Vehicle Deathmatch. Using your vehicle to kill or injure people, block doors, etc. with no clear RP reason.

  • RDM - Random Deathmatch. Killing or attacking people with no clear RP reason and no initiation. For example, shooting somebody on contact, punching somebody randomly.

  • Griefing - Ruining roleplay, social, or gameplay experiences for other players.

  • Lootboxing - Taking items (looting) from somebody’s body with no RP reason.

  • Powergaming - Making your character disproportionately powerful in order to force an unfair advantage over others or force certain narrative outcomes that may not be immersive or realistic. Examples include giving your character overpowered traits like x-ray vision or mind-reading, using "/me breaks handcuffs" or similar, or abusing game mechanics beyond their intended purposes.

  • Cop Baiting - Intentionally inciting cops into a chase or interaction, or to divert attention away from another heist.

  • ERP - Erotic Roleplay. NSFW, 18+ sexual roleplay.

  • HitmanRP - Similar to RDM. Players can not roleplay as a “hitman” and kill or injure players without proper RP reason and initiation.

  • FailRP - Acting unrealistically or breaking character. For example, failing to remain In-Character, calling somebody by their username instead of their In-Character name, or ignoring injuries.

  • FearRP - Players must value their own life in dangerous situations.

  • GTA Driving - Driving in an unrealistic or uncharacteristic way without a proper RP reason, such as driving supercars off-road, taking ramps and large jumps, doing tricks and stunts; driving like it’s GTA.

  • SuicideRP - Killing your own character on purpose to escape a situation, for convenience, etc. For example, to get to Pillbox and respawn quickly.

  • VigilanteRP - Taking the law into your own hands, and impersonating LSPD Officers, EMS Paramedics, Lawyers, Judges, etc. (Does not include cosplay during events, or silly superhero vigilante characters)

Behaviour Rules

  • Players must be over 18 years old in order to join and participate in OshiRP.

  • You must have a working microphone in order to join the server.

  • You must be able to speak and understand English fluently in order to join the server.

  • You must have push-to-talk enabled at all times instead of voice activity. This is to avoid "hot mic."

  • Do not start drama within the server and community. Any issues must be handled privately in DMs or through player reports.

  • Be kind and respectful to all players. Harassment, bigotry, and hate speech of any kind (racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.) will not be tolerated.

  • Use of any slurs and other derogatory terms is prohibited and will result in a permanent ban from the server.

  • Players must follow their streaming service's TOS and guidelines whilst playing on the server.

  • Do not trauma dump or bring up other sensitive topics such as race, real-world politics, religion, etc.

  • Members must respect the privacy of others. Revealing private information, doxxing, or making any attempt to find private information on others is strictly prohibited and will result in a permanent ban.

  • Players must respect and cooperate with the server admins and moderators. Moderator's decision is final, and we are not required to provide reasoning for warnings, kicks, bans, etc.


General Rules

  • Players must stream actively in order to remain in the server. (We will contact you if we notice extended inactivity)

  • Players must be in-character at all times within the city, and use in-character roleplay terms.

  • OOC situations, drama, etc. should be moved to Discord or other platforms as to not disrupt roleplay.

  • Avoid going AFK in open areas. Go somewhere safe or enclosed, such as your car or apartment.

  • Metagaming is not allowed and will result in a warning or a permanent ban depending on severity and repeat offenses.

  • Players must not use Discord and other out-of-game communications to share large amounts of information with each other. Only use Discord to enhance roleplay, for example sending somebody a photo in-character. Otherwise, using information from these sources in-character constitutes metagaming.

  • Combat Logging is not allowed. Players must fully commit to roleplaying any situations they get themselves into.

  • RDMing and VDMing is not allowed and will result in a warning or ban depending on severity and repeat offenses.

  • Intentionally griefing situations or ruining somebody’s RP is not allowed.

  • Do not barge into another situation if your character has nothing to do with it.

  • Lootboxing is not allowed. You cannot loot player bodies when you were not involved in the situation.

  • Players must create realistic and grounded characters that fit within the city. You cannot create an overpowered character with supernatural abilities such as mindreading, or have a fantasy-themed or unrealistic backstory and lore, etc.

  • Cop Baiting is forbidden and will result in a warning or ban depending on severity and repeat offenses.

  • ERP and any sexually explicit NSFW roleplay is prohibited and will result in a permanent ban from the server.

  • Players must engage in FearRP whenever in a dangerous situation. If somebody pulls a weapon on you, you must comply with their requests within reason, and you cannot pull a weapon if you’re actively threatened.

  • Reckless driving (such as driving incredibly fast, driving on the sidewalk, etc.) without reasonable RP reason is not allowed. Reasonable situations include a police chase, organized street race, etc.

  • GTA Driving is not allowed and will result in a warning or a temporary suspension. Making realistic jumps and driving riskily in a high-speed chase is OK; driving up a mountain with a supercar, ramping up the side of a bridge, etc. is NOT ok.

  • You cannot engage in SuicideRP. This will result in a permanent ban.

  • VigilanteRP specifically in the context of impersonating Police or EMS, or literally incarcerating criminals, is prohibited and will result in a ban. This does not apply to ‘superhero’ characters.

  • Sharing in-character information between your own characters, or storing items to be picked up by your other characters is considered metagaming and is therefore prohibited.

  • No trapping players in buildings by blocking doorways, etc.

  • When streaming the server, you must include “OshiRP” or “Oshi RP” in your title and your stream must be marked as 18+.

  • We have a 0-tolerance policy against cheats. Using 3rd party software or game modifications, or abusing bugs, glitches, and exploits in order to give yourself an unfair advantage is prohibited and will result in a permanent ban. For example, aim bots, wall hacks, mod menus, duplication glitches, money exploits, crosshair overlays, etc. (Shaders are not considered cheats)

  • Creating loopholes around rules and gameplay mechanics is prohibited and will result in a warning or ban depending on severity and repeat offenses. Please report all loopholes or exploits to server admins through the appropriate channels.


Criminal Rules

Crew Participation

  • Violent crimes (robbery, kidnapping, etc.) are allowed 3 maximum crew members.

  • Heists are allowed 5 maximum crew members.

  • For heists and robberies, you may position a portion of your crew away from the initial scene of the crime, as long as it doesn’t exceed the crew member limit.

  • You cannot split your crew for the purpose of creating a separate situation (store robbery, hostage, etc.) in order to divert police attention.

Robbery and Heist Conduct

  • You cannot commit a heist, start a store/bank/house/ATM robbery, or commit major crimes outside of the Los Santos city area. This means any location outside of reach from LSPD is not allowed. For example, a bank robbery in Paleto Bay.

  • You cannot park vehicles inside the place of a robbery/heist.

  • Store robberies have a limit of 1 vehicle. However, 2 vehicles can be used in bank heists.

  • You cannot kill a compliant hostage/civ/bystander during a robbery/heist.

  • You cannot use a friend as a hostage nor can you bribe somebody to be a hostage.

  • You cannot take hostages in government buildings.

  • You cannot call emergency services with the explicit intentions of taking them hostage.

Hostage Rules

  • You cannot take a character who is part of a whitelisted job hostage UNLESS there is more than 1 character for that job currently clocked in.

  • You can only kidnap players when at least 1 PD officer is online.

  • You cannot keep a hostage for more than 30 minutes. After this time, you must not force the hostage to stay.

Robbing Players

  • You must have a logical in-character reason to rob a given character (possession of drugs, guns, expensive goods).

  • You cannot force somebody to give you money from their bank account.

  • You cannot clear out someone’s inventory when robbing them, only take what your character is after (leave phones and such on their person).

  • You cannot hold up players or rob them while they’re actively in a menu.

  • You cannot loot a player if you were not involved in the situation that led to them being lootable.

Police & Chase Rules

  • After committing a crime you must remain in the same clothing (aside from headwear) for at least 10 minutes.

  • You cannot vehicle swap until 5 minutes after a police chase starts. This includes bringing in a new vehicle, or stealing another car during a chase. This does not apply to changing to another already active vehicle (for example, ditching your bike and hopping in your crewmate's vehicle).

  • You must not repair your vehicle during a police chase.

  • You cannot store a vehicle in your garage during an active police chase.

  • You are not allowed to do plastic surgery in order to avoid getting caught after committing a crime.

General Crime Restrictions

  • You cannot camp important job sites and NPCs, or illegal sites such as the Chop Shop or drug vendors, in order to rob players or stop players from purchasing.


Whitelist Rules and Procedures

General Whitelist Rules

  • No corruption roleplay is allowed for employees of Police, EMS, Mechanic, or Dynasty 8. This is defined as working together with criminals or gangs (such as smuggling gear, accepting bribes, etc.). Bahama Mamas and DOJ employees are allowed to be corrupt.

  • You may not commit crimes whilst clocked into Police, EMS, Mechanic, Dynasty 8, or DOJ. Police characters may not roleplay a 'double life' as a criminal.

  • Only 1 whitelisted job is allowed per character.

  • Each whitelisted job has a promotion ladder you must climb before being eligible for a management/leader position.

  • You must also have adequate and consistent playtime to be eligible for a whitelisted position.

  • Leaders and managers are responsible for creating and maintaining a Google Form for applications, and must roleplay an in-character job interview.

  • Managers/leaders may demote or remove whitelist roles from players for inactivity, or if their character commits crimes or breaks workplace procedure.

  • Use job-provided equipment and resources responsibly; don’t just give stuff away or misuse them.

  • You must clock out of your job when not actively on-duty, such as doing other activities or going AFK for extended periods of time.

Bahama Mamas

  • Even though you may be a stripper character, you still cannot engage in ERP. Simply pole dancing with emotes is not considered ERP.

  • No private dances. This may be considered ERP.

  • Ensure no lapdancing from non-employees occurs in the building.

  • No prostitution.

Mechanic

  • You cannot tow vehicles without a valid roleplay reason.

  • No favouritism (including player-specific discounts) when setting prices.

  • You cannot set unreasonably high prices.

LSPD

  • You can only use the Shield item for a heist response.

  • Every on-duty officer must be assigned a callsign.

  • Officers must wear the standard uniform on-duty.

  • Use of deadly force is only permitted when there is an immediate threat to life or serious injury.

  • Officers require a search warrant issued by the DOJ to enter a building outside of an emergency.

  • Vehicles may be searched under reasonable suspicion.

EMS

  • You cannot revive or heal players without roleplaying first and treating their wounds properly.

  • You cannot charge players extra fees other than the invoices for the services you have provided.

DOJ

  • Abide by case law when relevant. Case Law refers to previously settled cases that occurred in-city.

  • Judges may not engage in Corruption RP or show bias.

  • Lawyers may engage in criminal activities outside of their job, and Corruption RP, including accepting bribes and forging documents.

Dynasty 8

  • You cannot scam or exhibit favouritism (including player-specific discounts) towards any characters in purchasing/managing real estate.

  • You cannot cheat in new properties for yourself or anybody else.

  • You may negotiate property prices with your clients.

(RV) Road and Vehicle Laws

  • RV01 Obeying Traffic Control Devices
    Definition: All drivers must comply with posted traffic signs, traffic signals, and road markings at all times.
    Violation: $500 fine, Repeat offenses incur PC TV01 (Reckless Driving).

  • RV02 Mandatory Seatbelt Usage
    Definition: All vehicle occupants must wear seatbelts while the vehicle is in motion on public roads.
    Violation: $750 fine, Repeat offenses incur PC TV01 (Reckless Driving).

  • RV03 Unlawful Use of Vehicle Horn
    Definition: Excessive or unnecessary honking of a vehicle’s horn is prohibited.
    Violation: $1,500 fine, Repeat offenses incur PC TV01 (Reckless Driving)

  • RV04 Twilight Noise Pollution
    Definition: Playing loud music or media from a vehicle between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM is prohibited in public or residential areas.
    Violation: $1,500 fine, Repeat offenses may be considered disorderly conduct which incurs PC NV04 (Vandalism).

  • RV05 Jaywalking Prohibition
    Definition: Jaywalking is prohibited. Pedestrians must use designated crosswalks and obey pedestrian signals.
    Violation: $750 fine, Repeat offenses may escalate and incur PC NV04 (Vandalism) or PC PS03 (Failure to Comply).

  • RV06 Illegal Parking
    Definition: Vehicles may only be parked in designated parking zones. Blocking driveways, entry points, or emergency access zones is prohibited.
    Violation: $100-1000 fine (depending on severity), Vehicle may be towed or impounded, Repeat offenses may incur PC MV01 (Vehicle Registration) if vehicle is unregistered.

  • RV07 Abandoned Vehicles
    Definition: Vehicles left unattended in public spaces for extended periods without proper notice are considered abandoned.
    Violation: Vehicle impounded (impound fee = 100-1000, depending on severity), May incur PC MV01 (Vehicle Registration) or PC NV04 (Vandalism) if blocking or damaging property.

  • RV08 Yielding to Emergency Vehicles
    Definition: Drivers must yield the right-of-way to emergency vehicles displaying lights or sirens.
    Violation: $750 fine, Repeat offenses may escalate to PC PS03 (Failure to Comply) or PC CR03 (Obstruction of Justice) if actively interfering.

  • RV09 Right-of-Way to Pedestrians
    Definition: Motorists must yield to pedestrians at crosswalks and intersections.
    Violation: $1000 fine. May escalate to PC TV01 (Reckless Driving) or PC VC03-2 (Assault and Battery) if injury occurs.

  • RV10 Mobile Phone Use While Driving
    Definition: Drivers must not use mobile phones or handheld electronic devices while operating a motor vehicle unless using a hands-free setup.
    Violation: $500 fine, Repeat offenses may incur PC TV01 (Reckless Driving).

  • RV11 Illegal Street Racing
    Definition: Participating in or organizing unauthorized vehicular races on public roads is strictly prohibited.
    Violation: $1500 fine and vehicle impoundment, May result in PC TV01 (Reckless Driving).

  • RV12 Hit and Run
    Definition: Drivers must stop and provide necessary details after being involved in a vehicular accident.
    Violation: Incurs PC TV01 (Reckless Driving) and PC NV01 (Grand Theft Auto), depending on circumstance.

  • RV13 Driving Without a Valid License
    Definition: Operating a motor vehicle on public roads without a valid driver’s license is prohibited.
    Violation: Incurs MV01 (Driving Without a License).

  • RV14 Unlawful Use of Nitrous Oxide
    Definition: Using unauthorized nitrous oxide modifications for vehicular speed boosts on public roads is illegal.
    Violation: $200 fine, Nitrous system confiscated. Repeat offenses may escalate to PC TV01 (Reckless Driving).

  • RV15 Reckless Biking
    Definition: Cyclists must follow road rules or stay on sidewalks. Performing stunts or riding on highways is prohibited.
    Violation: $500 fine, Repeat offenses incur PC TV01 (Reckless Driving).

  • RV16 Driving on Sidewalks
    Definition: Motor vehicles must not drive or park on sidewalks unless explicitly permitted (e.g. emergency vehicles).
    Violation: $1,000 fine, Repeat offenses incur PC TV01 (Reckless Driving).

(GW) Guns and Weapons Laws

  • GW01 Gun License Requirement
    Definition: Individuals must hold a valid gun license to legally possess or carry firearms within city limits.
    Violation: Incurs PC GL01 (Illegal Firearm Possession).

  • GW02 Unlawful Discharge of Firearms
    Definition: Discharging firearms in public areas is prohibited unless done in lawful self-defense or at a government-authorized range/event.
    Violation: $800 fine, May escalate and incur PC GL02 (Brandishing) or PC VC03-1 (Assault with a Deadly Weapon) depending on context.

  • GW03 Explosives Possession Ban
    Definition: Possession or transport of explosives without a special government permit is strictly prohibited.
    Violation: Incurs PC GL01 (Illegal Firearm Possession), Incurs PC TR01 (Bomb Threat) if threat is made or implied.

  • GW04 Knife Length Restriction
    Definition: Carrying knives with blades exceeding 3 inches in length is prohibited unless holding a valid hunting license.
    Violation: $3,000 fine, Repeat offenses may incur PC GL01 (Illegal Firearm Possession).

  • GW05 Brandishing Weapons
    Definition: Displaying or aiming a firearm or weapon in a threatening or reckless manner is prohibited.
    Violation: Incurs PC GL02 (Brandishing).

(CC) Civic Conduct Laws

  • CC01 Trespassing on Private Property
    Definition: Trespassing on private property without the consent of the owner or lawful purpose is prohibited.
    Violation: Incurs PC NV18 (Trespass), May incur PC NV03 (Burglary) if intent to commit a crime is present.

  • CC02 Disorderly Public Behaviour
    Definition: Individuals must not engage in disorderly, disruptive, or aggressive behavior in public areas.

PRESIDENTIAL LAW 🦅Last updated: N/A

The city president can file to pass additional laws (dubbed: “Presidential Law”) as long as they don’t contradict existing City Law. These laws are only enforced for the duration said president is in office, unless the new president-elect wishes to keep their predecessor’s laws. An acting president may also file to put certain municipal codes on hold as a part of their Presidential Law.
